Jacob deGrom’s son is going to be the youngest pitcher ever

New York Mets starter Jacob deGrom and his wife Stacy received some great news Monday as they were able to bring their newborn son, Jaxon Anthony, home from the hospital. deGrom had been on the family medical emergency leave list for the past week as his son was dealing with an undisclosed medical issue.

Despite being just a week old, the Mets are wasting no time throwing baby Jaxon into the rotation, according to ESPN:

The Mets just continue to add outstanding young pitching to the roster.

Jaxon would presumably be the youngest pitcher in Major League history at a week old, but you can never be sure when it comes to some of these ballplayers ages. I’m still not convinced that Miguel Tejada wasn’t 55 years old when he won the MVP back in 2003.

Jaxon will probably throw a complete game shutout against the Braves.
