The Warriors record-breaking 73-9 season is obviously impressive, but it’s completely mind-boggling that the Warriors lost less games in an 82-game regular season than the 5-11 San Francisco 49ers did in 16 games this past NFL season.
Seriously, how sh*tty is that if you are the 49ers? Your basketball team lost less games than you! Unsurprisingly, this is the first time something like this has ever happened. Not even the Dave Wannstedt Bears managed to do that when the Bulls went 72-10 as they only lost seven games. We’ll see if Chip Kelly is able to turn that around with what appears to be Blaine Gabbert as their starting quarterback in 2016. Good luck with that.
As for the Warriors, they now have gone 83 games this season losing less games than the 2015 49ers as they easily dispatched the hapless Rockets on Saturday with a special assist from Dwight Howard’s incompetence:
